I went back and forth to layefette on one tank. That is 483 miles on one tank on 16.4 gallons that is 29.45 miles per gallon. I do love bonnieville and it'* not like a baby the car. Drove around 78 mph most of time. That mobil 1 oil most helped the car before it would average 27mpg. My car rpms now right on 2k mark going 80 mph on flat surface. Before when I ran normal oil it sat 2200-2300 at 80 mph. So far it has lost any oil at all. It seem to ride like it new car now. That motor runs so smooth.
Yeah, city driving ain't bad on these cars (especially those of us poor neglected folks thqt can run cheap gas
), but you put one of these babies on the interstate, set the cruise or maintain a steady foot, and they'll flat out amaze you.....

I have a hard time getting 20MPG combined out of my stock '93 SE. I have heard and read about these cars getting 29MPG, but I have never gotten any better than 21MPG on the highway. What steps can I take to improve thise? I see someone using Mobil 1 oil, but have not seen too much else, though I am new around here. I have put a new air filter in it, and I drive the thing as if there was a raw egg under the gas pedal.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Agreed...O2 is probably getting lazy. Typically they are about 30-50 to replace.

Can you give a link where I can look to see more specifics? Is this something that is easily done by someone with average mechanical skill? Or is this a dealer-only item?
