Default Got beat by a saturn SC1

My gf has a 94' Saturn SC1. That little thing can fly. You wouldn't think that a little 4 banger could beat a bonne, but these cars can.She has no mods on it at all. It is a POS.
One of my other friends has the same year same car with a manual, he knows how to drive it, and I smoked him. I also about ran him off the road for passing on the shoulder.

those little saturns can be damn quick. They still suck though, even though the saturn ion has about 140hp stock which is not bad for a 4banger. The bonnie has much more torque and is just a better car to drive in, I wouldn't want to get into an accident with a saturn, your butt would be deader then a doornail.

That'* odd. My sister has a 95 Saturn SC1 and that thing wouldn't stand a chance with me.

How much did you lose by? I bet it had to be close. Maybe it'* time to change some plugs/wires and just plain mod it

Those Saturns have either 100hp from a SOHC 1.9L motor or 125ish from a DOHC 1.9L. Eh?

Some of my friends used to own those. They admit they are pretty quick. Some have those performance shift buttons to hit redline.

That'* something that I think Toyota started in the early-mid 80'* with their electronically controlled transmissions in the Cressida and Supra. My Cressida'* got one of those, and they do help... ECT (electronically controlled tranny, yeah), it'* called... hit the button, overdrive button (yeah, a switch, not a shifter position like our Bonnys) off, and floor it. Not only does it let you go to redline, it makes the shifts faster (albeit rougher), and kickdowns come sooner with less throttle application, at least, in Toyota'* case.

That function made its way to other cars too, 1991-ish Accords had it, my buddy'* Saturn sedan (SOHC) has it, and some new cars to day have it.

The little button beside the shifter would be it, and you can also see the OD button.

The button on my car has little text in front of the buttons, as you can see in the pic above... "Norm" with a little diagram of the button in the off position and "Pwr" with a little thing showing the button pushed down... you can really fool passengers into you having nitrous with that button

My '96 Saturn SL2 has a DOHC 1.9L on a 5-speed stick, and I have to admit, it'* pretty quick for a 4-banger, especially if you know how to drive it... ...but doesn't stand a chance against my '93 SSEi....
