Perhaps you didn't read my post. I have an SLE which means I have 17 inch wheels. No GT-HR'*. Thanks anyway.

Will they fit on my stock wheels. Going from a 235 to a 255 maybe pushing it. Plus, doesn't the extra width actually hurt gas mileage and snow traction. BFG are actually my favorite tires but they don't make my size.

255'* will fit, on a G-body there is no problem at all with clearances etc. Depeding on your rims, you might wanna get some nice summer performance tires for the stock rims, and some cheap winter steelies on narrower taller tires for the winter months.

Mike I just got the Michelin'* MXV4 Energy'* and so far they are handling quite well. Got P235/55R17'* with H speed rating. Good on water, good on snow and very smooth ride compared to the RSA'* I had on (the original tires on the car.) The RSA'* lasted 45K miles and I hope the Michelins will wear better as they are rated at 400 compared to the Goodyears at 260. My problems with goodyears on all my bonnies has always been balancing. Even my last set of RSA'* were causing a bad vibration at 65mph but now with the Michelins that problem is gone. Good luck with your choice!

MIKE, i also got my BFG'* (255'*) at Costco. having two sets (winter & summer) of tires is the safest way to go. one set for the snow & ice , one set for the wet & dry roads. the BFG'* that i got at Costco also have an 400 rating. i have not seen a tire that was good on snow or ice that was highly rated for dry road handling.

ROD

p.*. my MPG did go down by 0.4 avg. MPG, but the car handles so much better.

How did you get BFG, they don't make them in 17 inch 235 55. That'* the tire I really want. I love BFG. I had them on my 99WS6 TA. They were the best.
