Default Good deal?

How hard (and how expensive) is it to replace the trannies in the old '87-'91 body style Bonnies? There'* '90 in the local paper for only $375, but they say it has a "bad tranny". Says good body and interior, though. What do you guys think? I am going to go look at it, but I'd like some initial thoughts on the matter... Thanks again, guys!

Never buy anything but a collector car unless it'* in complete driving condition. That'* the only way to uncover OTHER problems.

I wouldn't buy anything with major problems like that. You will most likely end up finding a laundry-list of other problems.

That is true.... But most of the Bonnevilles do last... Some problems will and do crop up with age... So yes it can be a problem car...

But If it was close to me and it was an SE for $375 I'd buy it and put a trans into it along with whatever it needed... Good to have junk yards with cheap parts...lol
Or if it is 100% worthless and doesn't work. I would buy it, if it'* cheap enough, and beat the crap out of it/ blow it up. Now that would be fun.

I would take a look at it then go for it if it looked alright. My local wrecker has a crapload of transmissions for this car, and the LN3 3800 is known for lasting a hell of a long time. Besides, even if it turns out to be a total lemon I'm sure you could make a good majority of it back by parting out.
