I love my 03 but also loved my 94. It feels like Im in an airplane cockpit in my 03. Handleing isnt a major differnce to me. Performance in both cars were okay, both were not supercharged, But I really dont drive that fast and hard neways. But the ride in my 03 seems 10x better even with 20'*.

Having experience with an '89 SE, 93 SSE, and the 2000 SSEi, I like them all. The seats took a little getting used to on the 00, but I've finally gotten them adjusted like I want them. I can't think of any reason I'd want to be in any seat for 36 hours...let alone in a car!
The biggest complaint I have on my 00 is the headroom. At 6'1' - I'm not overly tall, but my head still brushes against the headliner. I would have been happier without the sunroof, as I hardly ever use it, and had the extra couple of inches of headroom instead.
For those who have the magnasteer, and you want more road feel, take it in and have it adjusted to firm.

I drove RLD (Jim W'* '89). Rode very well (he had F41), had good power. Of course as it was an older gen, things improved in the mid 90s in terms of handling, power, and mostly just design and a greatly improved interior. I have always been the biggest fan of the 92-95 SSE styling, until the 2000s came out. I love the new body style.
I personally have gone from a 94 SSE to a....94 SSEi. The added power was great. Every option I have now I had with the SSE. The seats are the best in my 94s. And the HUD in my 94 is better IMO, compared to the newer Bonnes (larger display). I love how my 94 feels on the road. The tight steering feels perfect to me. It handles great. Hypothetically, if I could have a 94/95 SSEi in restored shape I'd be completely happy. If it had a Series 2 L67 it would be perfect.
The 2000+* look great, the new interior is very nice. I like more how my seats LOOK compared to the 2000s. I think they are too "boxy" looking in 2000-2002, but they are still very comfortable. In 2003 the seats looked better (Aurora seats). I don't like the looser steering as much as my magnasteer-less 94, but I still hope to get a 2002+ SSEi eventually. I can live without the tighter steering if it means having a smooth, more powerful L67 and a very nice looking package.

I think the strut bar on the 94 makes handling the corners better
Urethane sway bar end links also work nicely.
