General Motors will cease production of the DOHC Northstar V8 next month, after 17 years of production. It was one of the most advanced engines the company has ever built

I think your going to see more and more of the power houses go away. It'* all about mileage now. Funny how I can crank out 24, 28 MPG out of my engine, even with all the HP I'm putting down. If they put more in to performance then comfort for the few you can still get power and mileage.
