Boreas-
I could not agree with you enough. Im at a loss to figure out how the worlds biggest car company (not for much longer- as Toyota pushes to the top) could keep screwing up everything. Im also tired of seeing the G6 commercials, its not a bad car- but you're right that it can not carry the Pontiac line, as there is nothing that is full-size available.

They did a great job promoting 92-95 gen, and sold TONS of those Bonnevilles. Obviously the sales declined after that- as the changes were minimal to the 96-99 gen, although a nice car- the general shape of the car remained the same.

The last GP is a nice car- and they are really cheap here, as they are made just in Oshawa. A friend of mine who was VERY faithful to the 87-91 Gen, bought one last year after his 7th Bonneville. But the salesman who sold him the car- also commented on how poor the sales had been based soley on the fact of lack of promotion.

I would have talked to this lady for longer- as it was the best conversation that I had with a guest at the desk all night, and she was hot.

it'* really simple, what'* causing GM to fail (seeing it from the inside)... there'* WAYYYY to many layers of middle management. Too many jobs that were created for Joe back in the day when his plant closed, because he was a level 8 who'* been around forever, and we just didn't want to lay him off... it results in such a mess of middle management that communication doesn't happen unless someone is actively forcing it to happen. And the number of people at GM who care enough to force things to happen is small...

In any event, GM will be around for a good long while. Maybe not in the #1 spot in the world, but we'll be around. Some day there'll be someone in a high enough position with enough balls to make the cuts where they need to be cut. Probably sooner than later.

*shrugs shoulders*

You've got me really curious on who it could be though....

And is it just me or do the GPs keep getting smaller? My wife has a 2001 GP GT, and I think there are 2 different body styles after that. (Or maybe just one with different option packages). Anyway ,the current ones look about the size of a Grand Am. Yuck! (My wife'* 2001 is my favorite body style.)
