Default To get a GTP, RIv or SSEI...Please help me decide

Well with my latest tranny woes with my SE, Ive decided to turn a new direction. I want to stay along the same lines of type of car but I want to get an L67 car. I want a GTP, but Im also considering looking at 97-99 Riv'* and 96-99 SSEI'*. What do you guys & girls think? I plan on keeping my 99 as a daily driver and possibly handing it down to my brother when he turns 17 and gets his license in august; of course after I get it fixed.

Depends on what you are after.

Fastest will be GTP, but that draws lots of attention from cops

Next up is the SSEi.. fast.. Grannish looks...most don't expect it.

Last.. The Riv.. People just don't understand the Riv.. it'* different looking than any other 3.8 driven car. Luxury is inbred into it...

Basically Im under the impression that a SSEi will be about .5 second slower then a GTP and a Riv would be about 1 second slower then a GTP; am I right with this impression?

Plus, being on a Bonneville forum, opinions ARE going to be extremely biased, but who said that would be a bad thing??

My vote for 96-99 SSEi of course.

It'* all about mods etc. I based my view on the ideas of what each car weights with equal mods.

The Riv has an interestingly cool look to it.

Like I said..depends on what you are into..speed or luxury with a little extra power.

well...SPEED! Actually Ive always been about being unique, Im known to pretty much always have something different then everyone else. I guess thats pretty easy to do down here on the jersey shore because this is Civic, mustang, evo, sti & SRT-4 country, none of my cars have fit into that mold. A gtp would satisify my speed side, but a Riv would definitely be unique and an SSEi to me is the ultimate of luxary at an affordable price.

Negative.

I've never had issues with cops, and I drive a red car. *knock on wood*

With the GTP, you will get the weight and handling advantage, but they tend to have more problems when they get older. A lot of little problems... but the motor is obviously great.

After I wrecked my SSEi I was looking for something similar to replace it. I test-drove a GTP and was not that impressed with the interior. It is not horrid or anything but it just didn't compare to the comfort of the SSEi. I didn't like the seats and some things about the dash and trim. I'll give it props for the dual climate control and heated seats though. If speed is your first concern then a GTP will have the weight advantage. I think the SSEi has a better overall package. I have no experience with a Riv or Regal so I can not compare them.
