Gascap
I think someone stole my gas cap. I was at my grandma'* house shortly yesterday at night, and it is in Detroit, so I have a right to think it was ganked. I'm kinda pissed, cause I found out this morning when I looked and my gas door was half way opened.
It also could have been stolen at night at my house too. Maybe my friends were being stupid.
The funny thing was, I got gas that day too, but I am sure that I put the cap back on, because I walked by the car a million times after that, and I would have noticed that it was off.

Same way in New Jersey.
I usually see this happen about once a week to ladies (no offense intended here) at the Shell station I go to. I once thought that cars should be sold with at least one spare, especially if sold to a woman.
Sol?
Doesn't your car have a locked gas door?. On mine the release button is in the glove box and the emerg release is in the trunk.
Hmmm...now that I think about it, my buddies Bonnevilles (his GF'* anyway)...we had a hard time finding the release button inside the car. She has 93 SSE.
To bad to hear it was stolen, I'm sure the dealer could get on for a reasonable price

go the route I did and just buy a locking gas cap. They're only around $15. It gives you the protection of people not stealing it, or putting anything into your gas tank. You just put the key for the lock on your regular key chain..

On the 2000-03 models, we're spoiled. We have a locking door, and a teather to keep the cap attached to the filler neck. If you can't find one at a dealer, pep boys or autozone has them.
