Gas Mileage
Just a general thread on improving gas milage. I'm getting about 21 to the gallon (in town driving). 145xxx miles on the car right now. Regular oil changes, filters, etc.
Guessing I should work on changing 02 sensor; what else?

Tune up.
Maintain proper tire pressure.
Any EXCESS weight in the car will have an effect. 300lbs of speakers will do it.
Keep windows closed while on highway, use A/C.
Gentle use of throttle, this is not the NHRA here.

I do have some books and such in the trunk I need to take out anyway; I never use the trunk so this is a reminder.
Tire pressure is also something I need to be better about.
A/C is in process of getting repaired when I can handle it.

Spark plugs part of the tuneup mentioned above will make a big difference. Also, get a MAF sensor cleaner and clean that out every now and then, as a dirty MAF sensor will not read airflow properly and will throw things off.
Brand new MAF sensor.
Gas gauge not working, I go by trip; filled up twice and did the average and getting about 21/gallon.
I drove for a week with old MAF unplugged, only bought gas once, but got 27/gallon with that...fluke??
