It takes most PCM'* 150-200 miles to adjust the computer settings, so the engine will run efficiently on any given type of fuel. You'll often notice an initial decrease in performance when you change fuel brands/grades, but it generally should clear up after a half tank or so.

that'* only if you change onctane levels. If it'* the same octane and just low quality fuel it'll run like crap no matter how many miles you put on it.

I have a little over 60,000 miles on it. And as far as the ethanol additive. My manual says do not use it. Also says only use 93 octane.On a trip to Olando FL. the best I could get 29 mpg Never could get 30.

OMG.... I was using Wally mart gas and both of my cars went to complete crapp... That was even with the 89-93... Had plenty of knock counts going on too... Even the Mitsubishi that could run off water wouldn''t run off that crapp...

I switched to BP, Sometimes a local place Gas Qwick I think its called... I have had great results with both and that 87 Octane... I could never get my cars to run for crapp on the Wally mart gas... And I had some bad milage too... Now days I don't seem to ever do anything under 20mpg...
