All Holden cars were "born" in Australia. My G8 starts with a 6 as well and it was clearly sold in the US. I have yet to see an actual imported Ute (and I've been keeping an eye on G8/Holden communities for a while). They all use a G8 V6 or GT as donor for the left hand drive and safety equipment while using the Ute chassis.
