General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Funny experience yesterday.

Default Funny experience yesterday.

Went to pick up my valve covers from a local business that had them. The owner wanted to come out and see what they were going on. When I popped the hood, he called inside for another employee to come check it out. Soon there were 4 other people there.

Turns out one of the guys has a 4-door GTP. We had a good talk for a few minutes. Both of us were obviously boost addicts, and both had replaced transmissions lately. Then he asked about my mileage. I told him 32mpg on the highway.

He **** himself. He gets 18. I asked how old his O2 sensor was, and his reply was 3 months. I said:

"Used a bosch, eh?"

His reply:

"How'd you know that?"

Makes you wonder how many people are driving around a 3800 with a Bosch gremlin eating away at their wallet.

They're getting my special magic super-dooper coating that'* on my SC. That should help these aluminum VC'* dissipate heat quicker than the stock insulating fiberglass covers.

That'* for another topic though.

The guy with the GTP may end up here. Particularly after he replaces his O2. We talked a little bit about BC, and I also told him of CGP.

Talk about a missed opporunity.

You could have bet him a pack of beer that you can guess his brand and what the problem was.

I introduce you to our new "Miss Cleo Wren"

The college guys next door call me the Prophet.

I've worked on 5 of their cars already. They don't even argue with me any more.
