I've had that happen to me no fewer than _three_ times over the years, to three different cars, every time while I was watching (but too far away to do anything about it in time).

1) Nitwit next-door neighbor backs her Chevette into the driver'* door of my Vega
2) Best friend backs his Buick GS into the side of my Trans Am
3) Infiniti salesman backs his demonstrator I30 into the side of my Cutlass

Every time I was legally parked and they just weren't paying attention. At least their insurance paid off every time and I got my cars fixed...
