Your pump is 13 years old. Probably on its way out. The fuel level sensor is a good indication that it is. If the gauge is sporadic or doesn't show correct level, time to replace it. And if you do, stay away from Airtex pumps. They SUCK. If you can afford it, get AC Delco

The fuel pump module pictured......I don't know if it is any good. I've never heard of that name.

Mike is completely right when he advises to stay away from Airtex pumps. Airtex pumps are absolute garbage......lucky to get more than 6 months of use out of them.

When you replace the fuel pump module, be sure that the pigtail wire harness is included with the kit.....and be sure to install it (the pigtail).

It is easiest to drop the fuel tank when the rear of the vehicle lifted off the ground pretty high and the rear axle hanging down to the suspensions fullest extended length (if that makes any sense).

You'll need a certain "Fuel Line Disconnect" tool.
