Default Fog Lights

For the longest time, one of my fog lights were burnt out. I procrastinated too much, and never got a replacement. I finally got it now!

I think the fog lights define the SSE. I can see one from far away because of the fog lights, and now I can be like the rest.

I don't know why this means a lot to me, because they are just fog lights. This is the only place I could share these thoughts.

I know what you mean. I am constantly looking for fellow Bonnie drivers. Sometimes if I see one Ill pull up if I can and just look it up and down. I am sooooooo happy with this car. Ill never stray i dont think. I just love them! I think for us it illegal to drive with our fog lights on in town...I havent even really turned mine on yet. Gosh to be honest I dont even know really when to use them, Obviously when its foggy, but can you use them on normal nights?

kimmers,

i have a hard time believing that it'* illegal to light up your fogs in the city. i have 55 watt driving lamps that i located in a "fog" position on my saturn...they are really, really bright cause they resemble H.I.D. lamps. i never have gotten into trouble. fog lamps usually have a pattern that keeps the beam low down on the road (supposedly "underneath" the fog...or merely closer to the pavement) so you really won't blind people. maybe i'm naïve....let me know.

Ya, I was coming home the other night, and I saw a brand new SSEi in the lane next to me, just about 100 ft in front. So I sped up to go next to him, but he was accelerating as well, and I didn't want to go too fast, so I was still behind him. I pulled up next to him at the light and gave him a nod. He never looked over. Maybe he is just new to the Bonnies, and doesn't know about our fellowship.

Maybe that is a law in Canada (you may want to check on that). I leave my fogs on all the time. They come on with my DRL'*. I have 55w xenon/plasma bulbs in them to match my head lamps. I have never had any problems. Granted, mine are aimed properly so they shine down low on the road and not up at oncoming traffic. I am currently debating whether to defeet the Hi-beam/fog lamp interlock circuit to allow the fogs to come on with the hi-beams. To be honest, I can't remember if I have had to put my hi-beams on yet or not.

I know out here by me in Indiana that it is illegal to drive with your foglights on. The only time you should have them on is when visibility isnt that good. They really arent to strict about it, even though it is an easy excuse for them to pull you over. This was told to me by a friend that is a cop.

Kimmers~ providing your fog/driving lights are aimed properly they are not a problem to have on at anytime. I run mine all the time as it gives a much better look to your car and increased night vision for sure! Run with the laser beams on...GO FOR IT! I've never been pulled over for it, nor heard of anyone.

I hate to rain on everyone'* parade but you can be pulled over for the foglights. I was driving in NH along Weir'* Beach(kinda like a boardwalk) and this cop sees my car with the foglights on and turns around and pulls me over. I knew it wasn't for speeding cuz I was going like 20 mph. So I pulled into a parking space and they guy came up next to my car. He was a wicked ******* about the whole thing too. He asked why I thought I was pulled over and then how much my foglights cost. Then he asked why I needed such bright fog lights. I told him it was because my mom wanted me to be safe at night, which was a lie. So he told me this was my last warning and if he saw me again he would write me a aticket on the spot. And he said he would give me a written warning this time but never did.

I basically was very careful not to be a wise *** to the cop and answered all his questions without an attitude. But I was so pissed that he pulled me over for this. The lights were, however, really bright but I couldn't help that. They came bright and I pointed them down. If I pointed them down any more, they would have had no benefit.

Anyway, the lights were on my old 92 se and I don't have that anymore. I kept the stock fog lamps on my 94ssei and I like that the lamps match the headlights. I will stick with stock from now on.

The stock fog lights aren't that bright anyway. They don't really cause a hazard. They point low to the ground, so your eyes won't really be affected if one is coming toward you.
