with the new Gxp model come'n out later this year the bonneville has three looks to it that can seperate the trim levels totally! No more se/sle look a likes or sse/ssei either! now well have Se Sle and GXP! three different looks! personally, I'll always be more in favor of the centered fog lights, outside are aiight but I like centered ones better (especially 00-up models) I beleive this is the first time the bonnevilles has had more than Two looks to it ( I wonder if they'll make a GXP with centered fog lights also)

sadly, It'* bein' replaced by the GXP, remember the ssei is basically just the engine, so the engine will be avalible for the Se Sle? is that right? someone will know, I'm pretty sure it will be though!

K... a lil feedback here.. I'm confused. so which trim is going to have what engine ? The SE SLE going to have the series II N/A and the SSEI is going to have the SERIES III L67 w/M120 */C ? The GXP is going to have the V8 then ? I want the V8 forget zoom zoom.. I want Vroom Vroom..

Domestic manufactuers are still having trouble with the whole large displacment overhead cam motor.

Both the 4.6 modular motor that Ford makes and the Caddy derrived OHC motors have some oil consumption issues. I am trying to remember what the engineers said but I think the caddy motor is still within spec if it losing up to 1.5 qts of oil in 3000 miles.

I don't know what the specs are for the ford motor but I have seen fairly new motors losing as much as a quart or so in 3000 miles. It is kind of hard to tell how much oil the ford motors are losing since they have the most inaccurate dipsticks every created.

I know the 4.0 motors that oldsmobile uses have had less oil consumption problems then the caddy motor so hopefully the 4.4 liter v8 will have fewer issues then the caddy motor.

It should have less problems. They are trying to get the performance side down, so the tolerances in this new 4.4 are much tighter. It some people are saying it is a destroked 4.6 Northstar, others are saying it'* a tweaked Aurora 4.0. Both are based on the same design and both went through a redesign just a couple of years ago.

In respect to the SSEi... sadly there will be no more 3800 SC for our cars starting 2004. This engine will be used for the top-end perfomance models of the GP. The decision was made a couple of months ago to drop the GP V8, giving the Bonneville some room in the lineup by giving it the V8. You may be able to get the V8 in SLE trim, but that will be in 2005, if at all. Rumors of a coupe are, at this time, just rumors. But, then again, 50 years of Bonneville are coming up...
