factory paint color code
is the paint code in the vin? if so, where? I went to the auto parts place and there were 3 different "bright red" touch up paints available for GM vehicles. Good job naming them....

The paint code can be deciphered by the VIN at GM BUT it will give a colour group only! For the ACTUAL paint code of the car look on your RPO label on the spare tire cover in the trunk. It'* located on a white sticker with a lot of 3 digit codes! Those 3 digit codes are that vehicles options. At the bottom of those codes you'll find a "U' or "WA" then 4 digits, that'* your paint code!
