Default Explain This.

OK, I've got a puzzle for you guys.

I've noticed the headlights dimming, once a night. I look at the volt meter and it seems I lose charge from the alternator. It loses charge for less than 4 seconds, then pops right back up to where it should be (~13-14 volts).

I thought it might be set off by switching the brights off, turn signal on and braking all at the same time (Slowing down, Taking a fork to the right, into a well lit and moderately busy area). So, the next night I watched it and only changed one thing at a time. Still happened.

Here'* the weird part. It happens in the EXACT same spot on the road, every time. Right before I veer to the right off of my girlfriend'* road. It doesnt happen ANYWHERE else.

Any theories? Aliens maybe?

Dumb question... It'* supposed to do that?

I read somewhere that it can shut off to keep from overcharging the battery. Maybe that'* what it'* doing. But always in the same spot is just odd.

Since we're just making a guess, is there a bump/rough area at this spot in the road? Possibly a loose connection, bad ground wire. etc.?

I'm with Joel, check for a loose or corroded connection.

There is a small rough patch just before the turn. I'll take a look when I get a chance.

Checked the grounds today, all are fine. I'm good with the Black Hole theory.
