can an exhaust leak cause Kr?
i have a slight exhaust leak at my egr tube and i get spikes on kr

It can cause KR. How much is up in the air.

Think about your leak this way. That is unmetered air entering the intake. Possibly a huge vacuum leak causing you to be lean.

sometimes i have 0 degrees at wot and others times i have 3-5 tops

There are many factors that can cause KR in situations that appear to be identical at first.

Exhaust leaks are bad which is why S1 guys especially should to check/fix their EM cracks before dropping pulley sizes. A crack in the EGR tube though minor is still not good. I went WOT for quite some time before I knew my EGR tube had a huge crack through it. The car ran great at WOT, but without a scantool at the time, who knows what kind of KR I was getting.
