Default Engine input request.....Bonneville timeline!

Ok, here'* your chance. What years/models had which ENGINE...NOT transaxle just yet. JR, you have some pretty good insight into the 97-91, so I expect some good info from you on this. I need specific Engines for specific models/years, including GM L codes, even hp or tourque would be cool.

Have at it!

Here'* my quote from you guessed it GM Canada again: *Not in any order*
These are ONLY RPO Codes for the available engines!
LG2 > 86 - 88 3.8L (3.8B) V6 SFI
LG3 > 86 - 88 3.8L (3.8-3) V6 SFI HO 231 CID
LN3 > 88 - 92 3.8L (3.8C) V6 MFI
LN3 > 99 - 00 3.8L (3.8H) V6 MFI
L27 > 90 - 95 3.8L SFI V6 HO 231 CID
L36 > 95 - 02 GAS 6 CYL (3.8K) MFI HO (ERV6 SERIES)
L67 > 91 - 02 GAS 3.8L (3.8-1) SFI V6 SUPERCHARGED

*BTW: the 3.8 in (***) is the 8th Digit from the left in the VIN*
These engines were used by GM in all FWD carlines not just Pontiac'*! Note: some were just used in some carlines and not available in other carlines.

Cameron, where'd you get your data on the SC 92-93? My data sez 92 was 205hp, 93-95 was full SeriesI 225hp. We talked a bit about this last night, but there'* conflicting stories out there. I know for certain that my 93SC looks identical to the 94/95, but a bit different than the 92.

Can you or anyone else (JR?) shed some light on this?

These are the exact specs for my 1993. Was this true for all 93'*, or was mine built late in the model year?

Well, every data source that I have looked at says the 1993 MY supercharged 3800s only had 205hp. That includes my Chiltons, etc. But they could be wrong.

I'd be interested in knowing your sources for that year'* specs.

Thanks.

Hey Will, Almost forgot.. How much diffrent does you 93 SC engine look when compared to a 92 and 94 model... I seem to be finding some conflicts in this are, but from what I can find at the moment Csprague is wright.... It wasn't 225 hp untill 94... I was and am still thinking 93... But I could be wrong... What I have found is for 94.. And the 93 was 205.... Can we get any info from Pontiac....? I have a question for you Will, where does your Bonnie redline at??? 5200rpms or 5600 rpms?? I know the series II'* all redline at 6000rpms.. Let me know Will....

Anybody with a 92 SSEi also answer the redline question.... I'll have to dig up some old mags, and look at the ratings.....
Ok, look at this page: http://home.attbi.com/~bill.wren/

I redline at 5600 rpms, not 5200. I also have the roller rockers. Maybe they switched over to the higher hp part way thru the production run for 93? When did they start the build on the 93'*? What month in 92? They usually start in August or so, right?
