Default This is an emergency.

Monday night I notice something strange. I know that I need a starter, but I smelled this bad odor. It smelled like raw eggs and ***. I never knew where it was coming from until Tuesday. I smelled the gas coming from my battery with vapor smoke coming out of it. I have a Delco Freedom battery. I felt like I was going to pass out. I spoke to Tim about it and he gave me some good info on what is making it happen. I need to know now is if I need to get only the starter and the battery changed and nothing else.

I don't know what is causing it to smoke, but I would guess that you just need a battery and starter.

Nope. It'* the older one. I will problably get another on etoday. I was just wondering if those were just the only things causeing the battery to do that. I was going through the starte problerm since August and never had the monwey to replace it. Now I guess its made the battery worse.

Hmm..The only time I've heard of a battery doing that was an internal problem, a defect in manufacturing. I'd say you'd be okay with just replacing that.

I work right across the street from Exide Batteries, and have had friends and a brother that worked there. The quality control is fairly tight, but you'd be surprised how many bad batteries still get shipped out.

I got it taken care of now. I am happy. Now I need a new belt for the supercharger, a power steering pump and a trans mount. The motor mount that I thought I needed is fine.

I was at AutoZone today and I asked for them. THey said that I have to order them ahead of time. I'll go there tomorrow and hopefully by Saturday they would have them.

Last time I heard of someone having a rotten egg smell was due to a Bosch O2 sensor
