Hey guys, I have my eye on this ebay auction for a small amount of parts I want for my resto project. The only way I'll pull the trigger on it is if I am pretty confident I can break even on parting this out.. Please guys, honest thoughts.. Can you guys give me your wish lists on anything you would want on this car? I don't want to make money here, just break even, parts will go cheap - maybe a way for all of us to benefit.. its already above the price I would pay for it. since there are 11 bids on it, at it still has some time left, expect the price to shoot up a couple hundred more in the last minute of bidding.

Yeah, I tend to agree.. that'* why I put it to you guys.. if there'* enough interest, I'd think about doing it, but it is only an SE, so not sure how much interest there would be for parts from you guys..

it isn't hard to swap to ssei engine/trans/body kit..

its not hard? ever done it? swap an L67 drivetrain into a totaled SE body? :? who is going to do all that work, and then have an SE interior. nobody.

I realize that most of you guys are all about performance... but here'* what my thoughts were.. Hypothetically.. I need what would amount to a few hundred dollars worth of parts - none are big parts, but the nickle and dime stuff. So, hypothetical examples.. anyone need a running engine for the daily driver? or to mess with and mod? Come and get it, it'* sitting on a pallet waiting for you, hundred bucks. A good used tranny? stick in the corner as a spare? 50 bucks. Headlights? 20 bucks for both. Air bag module? Etc., etc., etc... Hell, once I break even, I'll let you guys come down and rape the thing for free.. just get it out of my driveway without making a mess. Who needs a front clip? Decent winter beater tires and wheels even.. This is what I am getting at. Anyone interested in any parts? Thanks.. Mike.

That seems generally fair. I would be willing to take that offer. We're generally close, but not at the moment. Maybe in a few months, if you still have anything, would I be able to come over there. But can you ship stuff? I need the passenger side headlight holder.

I didn't buy it, I pretty much had no feedback on whether people wanted stuff, until very late in the evening, oh well, there will be others..
My project started with one great car with undercarriage rust, then a pretty worn out car totally rust free. Both were running and complete, my attic is full of parts already, but a few particular things I could have used, the rest was just for the fun of taking yet another car apart.. Assuming my time is worth nothing.. which is untrue.. my typical weekday evenings are work-home-dance and/or swim team practice-back home, dinner and bed... Weekends most always include a swim meet somewhere.. You all will know what I mean when you have teen-aged kids someday..
Had to be pretty sure that I would break even on this ebay car, without parting things down as small as each nut and bolt, much faster to pull big pieces and whole assemblies... Mike

Yep, other cars will come along. BTW my kids are grown and gone now so I know what life is like with kids. Members here are of all ages. I started messing around with cars again after 20 years away from them while raising a family. Got alot of time on my hands now, so have to do something besides golf.
