Default dunlop tires decent..

Hey,

Anybody running Dunlop GT qualifer'*?? A local tire joint is offering free mounting and balancing on 4 dunlop tires purchased there. It'll cost me around $255 w/tax, I'm running 225-60-16'*.

In the past 2 months I've replaced my altenator, front brakes, a tune up and now I just had a new harness installed for my headlight switch. So I'm kinda strapped for cash and the price is right. Is this a good deal?? I don't want crappy tires on a budget either.. I can probaly get for a month or two if I have too.

thanx

I ran Dunop D60'* on my 93 and they were the shittiest tires I ever owned until I bought the 95 with the 'Wingro' tires, which are almost as good. Other than that, I have NFC.

tirerack has an ok rating on them, i dont like the snow rating at all tho

heres a list of reviewed dunlop tires http://www.tirerack.com/tires/dunlop/dunlop.jsp maybe your local store will carry one of the better ones

personally im a goodyear tire fan, no probs ever with goodyears, tho i dont have them on my car right now, i have avon tyres on it and theyre decent (model cr448 i believe), i didnt pay one red cent for them, they came with my se, brand new too

You get what you pay for. The $255 is just too little money for quality. When you're driving 70 mph on the Garden State Pkwy, you want some good rubber underneath, no?

I didn't get em... Plus the jerk tried to jack up the price on me.. Said phone quote he gave me was wrong. When I got there he told me, sorry they're 90bucks each.. I said see ya!!

a real jack@#sif you ask me.. the old bait and switch

So I went to my local goodyear joint and I got a set of used Michelin synetry ones for $110 installed They're in great shape, no plugs and really decent tread left. If I get another 15k out of em I'm happy. They fit my budget rite now. I got divorced 6 months ago and my ex cleaned me out!!

Anyway these tires are awesome. the car rides so quiet on the parkway at 70 mph. I even boogied in the rain, no problems at all. A definite improvement over my Goodyear'* that were on the car. I always thought Michelin'* were overpriced so I usually bought goodyears. These tires are way better. Wal-mart has em for $112.00 each new. I haven't checked tirerack. B esides wal-mart only charges $9.95 per tire install with road hazard.

I know what my next set of tires will be..

thanx for the advice...
