I guess now that I look back at the pics, it wasn't on '04, it was a '97-'03 obviously due to the Gen III blower and the older body style, it must've been another '04 with a weird setup that I remembered. Anyways here is a pic:

It has two intercoolers too! It only has a 3.4 pulley (making about 4psi boost) and it is just supposed to give the car torque off the line and help to spool the turbo quicker, once the turbo spools the wastegate on the blower opens so it runs on just the turbo, at least thats how I understood it when they explained it to me.

The concept is called twincharging. And yes, they are a total bitch to tune. I recently read about a mini cooper that had a turbo installed w/ the factory SC....but I had never heard of it being done w/ an L67. Anyone know if that setup is still being used by the owner? You would think there'd be some longevity issues with a setup like that, but I'd be interested to know what kind of numbers he was putting down...

The INTENSE Turbo GP runs over 30psi IIRC. There are people with turbos on LS1'* and stuff like that. People put twin turbos on small blocks those make a lot of power. It is actually fairly common. The problem is, it isn't really practical to drive around in an 800hp car on the street because you literally can't get any traction under like 100mph, its pretty useless, so stuff like that is generally for race purposes only.

Shawn
On American Hotrod (Flame away) they put a twin turbo small block in a '72 stingray. They dynoed it outside of the car at around 1500 hp and 900 lb/p of torque. I dun know if thats BS but they got the realtime readings on tape.

Syclones and Typhoons came with a 4.3L turbo V-6, but I don't know if that was stock from GM. I think another company modded the new trucks and resold them as new. Much like lingerfelter, yanko, or even waldoch and eddie bauer.
