Im sorry I didnt think about it sooner, but vaseline is the best option for severe conditions like im in. Plus it wont degrade the rubber the way wd-40 does. I used it because I didnt think about vaseline (DUH), but it was meant to be a temprary solution anyway.

So far I have not found "greasy" silicone. I used a "silicone" spray that dried as fast as you applied it. What brands of silicone are you people using? I think im using the wrong one.
