Over here you only can call cops if it is iver 1000 in damage, really there is no damage, they would have got pissed off.

I've come to the conclusion that the vast mijority of folks on the road are dumba$$es and/ or don't give a **** about anyones vehicles. A buddy of mine parked at a mall next to a white van. He came out and a big white streak went down the side of his truck. $2000 in damage. So, if you want to keep you're car mint you must either:

A. Not drive it
B. Move to the country so you can't come across other vehicles
C. *THE MOST LOGICAL CHOICE* Buy a beater for situations in which say; you must park in a crowded parking lot, wait in a line of cars, drve on holidays when drunk drivers are out, ect ect...

But you had $1000 in damage, a new bumper cover and quality paint job at the dealer would be at least that much.

Some of us dont have the luxury, it comes down to lack of respect and care for others.

I think thats excatly what it is. It seems the nicer you try to keep your car the more people park closer to you, leave empty shopping carts right next to your car. Just because they don't care for their car they shouldn't ruin other peoples car.

If I park in a spot where there might be some denting action going on, I jot down the license plates of the two cars beside me. If I come out and theres any damage, I report the vehicle that was on the side the damage is.

I've done that before too a couple times. But for the most part, I park a long way away from other cars no matter where I park. I went dent free for 2 1/2 years that way with my last Bonne. If I can't park away from other cars, I worry about it until I get back to my car.

That would be true but if there are just scratches on it it doesn't justify a whole new bumper cover. Just sanding and repainting. Either way, I think it'* BS and she should be responsible.
