I just got back from my uncles house, and he is really into cars. I told him my plans to get an intake, hi-flow cat, and magnaflow muffler. He said that it sounded pretty good, and then he said that he wants to race somtime, my question do I even have chance even with those mods against him in a '73 vette with a k&n? My guess would be no, but I can always dream..

You can do it for chitz and giggles...might be fun...just to say you did it...

Yeah...sounds like a cool uncle, my uncle had a navy blue 75 Corvette, now that thing hauled some serious booty. He credited the car for getting him in good with his evantual wife...lol, don't tell him I said that

Haha, that is awesome!! My uncle always wanted a 73 vette, but at the time he couldnt afford one, and recently a local classics dealership got that one in, and the rest is history... My uncle is the best, I respect that soo much, that he always wanted one and he worked hard enough to buy one that he could drive on the weekends... very cool IMHO.

Kind of off topic, my neighbor just bought a cyclone. He had one as his first car, and now that he had some extra money he wanted to own one again, so he found one and bought it the next day. Well I raced him and needless to say I got my butt handed to me...
The story:
I'm driving down the street, when I see my neighbor, so I look over and yell 'hello'. He yells back 'you want to race?' I thought that he was just kidding so I press down the accelerator half way, and all of a sudden I hear tires chirping and he is flying past me. In an attempt to have some sort of chance of maybe not losing as bad, I floor it, it downshifts but its too late he has just schooled me. It was fun! Then when I get home he starts to tell me all about his car, and all of the other ones he owns. He has qutie the stable: Audi A6(I think) turbo, BMW X5 4.4, and the Cyclone. Very nice choices...

hmmmm.......let me see here.....bonne vs. vette, i dont see the competition! sorry, but much as i want to tell yea that yur bonne might have a chance.........you dont.ive beaten a lot of souped-up ricers and others off the line but...... CHEERS for ya tryin with the vette!!!!

Take it as a compliment that he wants to race and have fun with it. I had a guy in a new Porsche challenge me a while back. Knew I was gonna get stomped, but still had fun.

I dont think you have a chance in your 1997... Inorder to beat a vette you need a 1990 se .

As said before, race for shiats and giggles. I LOVE to see/hear classics roar by.

I'm not sure how much the 73 has, but the 77 Vette has 210 HP, that weighs 3700 pounds, so It wouldn't be that bad if you had those mods. Once the Vette'* hit the 70-80'* there HP went down a whole bunch. I think it would be close.
