I've been concerned about this since I bought my Bonnie...around 50k miles I started seeing a gradual drop in the overflow...about every 5k miles, my coolant level drops to the bottom of the overflow tank. I've filled back up to the proper level two times times since (at 58k).
So...what'* the consensus here..should I replace the LIM and UIM gaskets as a precaution? I don't want an all out failure...

I would probably have that checked out by Boosty
This has also been discussed over at the Malibu forum I run. Looks like at least one other person is switching over to the green stuff at the next coolant flush.
I know that I needed to have my coolant drained and flushed a little while after buying my new car. Seems that the dex-cool broke down and lasted about a year in my car ( a 2003). That just isn't right, I mean you buy a NEW car and the coolant that is claimed to last a good while can't even last a year and about 40,000 MILES before it breaks down.

And the Dex-cool debate goes on.
Go through these posts and dig out the different ingredients of available automotive coolants and I think you will be surprised. Look at the ingredients and decide for yourself.

If you want to do a flush and make sure you got all of the coolant out you could switch to Prestong Longlife( Orange ) which is Dex Compatible... I have had good luck with this coolant
