Can anyone point me in the right direction of a thread that instructs how to install a 180* Thermostat? I tried searching but it'* in so many people'* threads and common terms that I can't find a thread where it'* all laid out. Thanks.

With the engine cold remove the rad cap.
Use a wrench and open the brass relief valve on top of the thermostat housing.
Use a 10mm socket to remove the 2 thermostat bolts.
Remove the thermostat housing.
Remove the thermostat and gasket.
Clean the gasket mating surfaces and the housing and intake port.

Install the 180* thermostat.
Install the housing and gasket.
Tighten the housing bolts to 15 ft/lbs.
Tighten the brass relief valve.
Refill rad with coolant*
Put the rad cap back on.
Start the car and watch for any leaks.
Slowly crack open the brass relief valve to let out air, close once you see fluid.
Repeat a few times as the car warms up.
Check the coolant level of your resivour.

*you will loose a bit of fluid when you take off the housing, have a large sized rag handy to clean up.

Only thing I'd add is right after remove rad cap...use a piece of vacuum tubing to put in the rad and siphon about 1/2-1 gallon of coolant out. That'll keep it from spewing out when you remove the two 10mm bolts.

Sully.. I forget if you are coming to NEBF... you could do it as your mod!

Yes on the gaskets.

There are two. One rubber that goes around the t stat and the other is paper that is for the t stat housing.
