Year and trim level of your car will help.
First, make sure your battery cables are clean on both ends. If you still have problems then pull fuses at night. If the problem goes away it will be in what ever circuit that fuse is on. This will at least help narrow down where the problem lies.

If you have an SSE or SSEi before 96, very likely one of your air struts in the rear is leaking. The cause of the battery drain could be the compressor comes on automatically to keep them inflated and overnight that can do the battery in.
GM rethought that system and made it ignition only 96+

Yep. My 92 Park Ave did this. In the winter the drain was enough to not start the car in the morning. LOL I use to get home, back it in, and pin a cinderblock diagonally under the rear bumper. I'd drive off it in the morning. Liquid lunch took care of it during the day.
Would pulling the ELC fuse when parked work?

More info on dead batt.
[QUOTE=mired84;1358652]Has anyone had their battery go dead overnight?
I have replaced the battery and checked for any thing that may be stating on .Any thoughts? This is a 04 Bonneville GXP. I have disconnected the neg batt cable and put a ampmeter in line and The current is ~7 amps unlit the dome lights time out then down to
.01 amps. I have no way of recording this current overnight without standing there and watching the meter to see if something comes on .Several olher people have herd of thr regulator in the alt going bad and the feild staying on.

This is why I posted an permanent announcement about members getting their year and trim model in their signature. The problems and fixes are as varied as the engines and Series of engines used in the Bonneville'* over the years. This problem in the GXP is new to this Forum mired. And perplexing. Cant see an .01 amp draw draining the battery that quickly. The GXP also has a low voltage shut off protection, so something weird is going on. Wish I could help more than that. Try unplugging the altenator overnight and see if the problem is corrected.

Even those wouldnt get by the low voltage protection Dan. The GXP is programmed to shut down power before the battery is drained enough to not crank. I think something beyond the obvious is going on there.

correct my 03 i coulnt even let the door open for more than 5 min, before the battery wouldnt start the car.
5 years is about the time that a battery lasts in the 00+. There is a huge demand from it with all the electronics.
