With out looking at the repair manual there is no general set of steps. I have done many repairs to FWD cars and most of the time it'* pretty straight forward. The biggest hurdle is suspending your engine and trans assy from the top of the car. We had a gizmo at the dealer that was made specifically for this. Since I no longer work at the dealer the last transmission I pulled I made a tool at home. Some cars the steering rack is attached to the cradle and you need to either disconnect the steering shaft and hoses or find a way to suspend it into the car while the cradle is out.
