Default Coolant Temp And Trans

Last week I had a full trans flush done i'm assuming for the first time in the car'* life since it was kind of tan. My trans guy said the old fluid was burnt so it was due.

I took my car out for its first real hard driving this year and suprizingly the temp never went above 200*. Usually when I drive hard over long periods of time temps easily touch 215*. So, i'm curious if maybe the trans was overheating before the flush and heating up a coolant hose? I have no idea if there even is a coolant hose near the trans.

Your transmission is cooled by the radiator...probably the lines going into the passenger side of it.

Therefore..your trans may have been heating your coolant to a degree.
