Default Coolant change

Okay, so I have been reading all the post about changing the Dex out with prestone. I am confused as to which one.

Better A:

Or better B:

as far as i know, i believe that when people say to put in prestone i believe they mean option A because i think option B still has the problems of dex-cool

I was also understanding A but like the second reply to the post says, there is disagreement. So I want to make sure that it is A before throwing that in.

If you read the ingredient labels on those two jugs, they are absolutely identical. The "DexCool approved" one just has orange dye instead of greenish-yellow, and costs about $2 more per gallon.

I'd say it comes down to this...if you're on any kind of warranty, use the orange one so the shop won't ding you for using "unapproved" coolant. If you are not on a warranty, use whatever you want.

I use option B and drain it every 6 months. I'm also a big fan of the colour.

Seems a llittle expensive to do that for something that is supposed to last for 5 years. Now is this dex-cool, or is it dex-cool approved without the negative dex effects? I know that option A says that it is for any make and any color coolant, so it should be okay, I just want to make sure.

Even the Gearheads disagree on this one, guys. Some believe that the orange Prestone is a Dex formulation marketed by Prestone and as-such, carries similar risks for causing problems. Others say that Dex-approved and Dex-compatible aren't the same as Dex. I do not take any chances with orange coolants that have the word Dex on the label. No one believes that the yellow-green "mixes with any color or type" is Dex. Both are extended life coolants, so to me, the choice is easy. I use and recommend the "mixes with any type" coolant.
