For our boys, we have the Eddie Bauer Designer 22, pictured here:
http://www.elitecarseats.com/Eddie-B...esigner-22.pro and the Eddie Bauer Deluxe 3-in-1 car seat pictured here: http://www.elitecarseats.com/Eddie-B...luxe-3-n-1.pro

The first one is a car seat/infant carrier that locks onto a separate base (but can also be used without the base if need be). It also snaps into the compatible Eddie Bauer "adventurer" travel system stroller pictured here: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2580985

This is great for infants because the carrier seat just snaps in and out of the base. The base stays strapped in your car. The angle of the base is adjustable to fit almost any car. We have two bases, one for each car, and a third one that we sent to our parents across the country so that when we travel we don't have to drag a base around. The carrier/seat can be strapped into a car without the base if need be, which is handy for cab rides to the airport.

The Deluxe 3-in-1 seat can be used for infants as small as 5 pounds, and kids up to 100 pounds, and can face rear or front as needed. But it'* a large car seat and not something you want to keep moving in and out of your car. We have two of them, one for each car, and they pretty much live in the car. The base of this seat doesn't come off (unless you're taking it apart), and you adjust the angle by pulling out the big red handle in the middle of the front of the base.

The Deluxe22 infant seat/carrier can be bought separately, but also comes with the adventurer travel stroller. The stroller can be used with or without the car seat, so you can continue using it for toddlers, without the infant carrier. Also, for infants, you can get a separate "car seat stroller" to use just with the car seat. For this model seat, the Kolcraft Universal is the one that fits: http://www.elitecarseats.com/Kolcraf...at-Carrier.pro

A quick word on prices: These models are at the pricier end of the line. However: They are extremely popular, and because of the way the Designer-22 components fit together, they are very common on Craigslist in urban and suburban areas. People buy the stroller/infant carrier combination, then when their child outgrows the carseat part, they sell it off and continue using the stroller for their toddler, and then they sell that off when their child no longer needs the stroller. The car seat, the separate base, and the stroller are all very easy to find used on Craigslist. We started out with just the travel system stroller+carseat+base, and swapped the carseat/base between our cars as needed. After a while I just snagged another carseat/base for $20 on Craigslist and put one in each car. Then I snagged a separate base to send off to the grandparents. When we visit they pick us up at the airport and have the base already strapped in, so we just snap-in the carseat and go!

The 3-in-1 seat is larger and not so easy to swap between cars, so I got two of them to begin with. While they list at over $200, they occasionally have them on sale at eddiebauer.com for $99, and that'* when I got two of them. You just have to watch their website. Babies-R-Us carries the exact same seat and never sells it for $99, so eddiebauer.com is your friend.

Hope this thread helps anybody with kids, or thinking about having kids! I've found that the Bonneville is a great car for hauling kids around. I put the large 3-in-1 seat in the middle in back, and put the Deluxe-22 infant seat base on the passenger side in back. Both kids fit at the same time, no problem.

Another tip for everyone, buy a second seat base.

We had the bright idea to register for two car seats, one with the Eddie Bauer travel system, and one separate seat so we could have one in both vehicles. It'* a pain in the butt because my wife drops the kids off at daycare and I pick them up, so I have to take the kid in her seat, and then transfer him to mine. We found out later we could have gotten a second base.
