Default compass mirror

Has anyone added a compass mirror to their car.? What color display do you have? My car is red dash except for green climate control. I was thinking green but want to know what others have done

It'll work either way.. but don't you need to run wiring for the compass to recognize direction...and where to mount the unit.. Those of us that have it..our uh..I foget the name..box is located between the speakers

if you are looking for a compass mirror you should just need to re-do the wiring on it. From what I have seen, the compass control is at the base of the mirror already. Now, if you find one with temperature too, then you'll need to get the sensor and run the wires for that.

My parents are looking for a temp/compass one for my mom'* impala, but cleapest we found was $85 for it and sensor out of a truck.

plug and play, I don't think it is. I also do not know if the compass mirrors are auto dim. That said, if I remember correctly, the mirror with just auto dim has 3-5 wires in it, thinking 3. You may just have to figure out which wire goes to what and match them.

What year cars are we talking about here?

ok... found a picture of one on ebay: Here is the auction

It looks like it does have auto dim and that there are only 3 wires in the back. The plug is different from ours though I believe. The second picture also shows the compass bubble at the base of the mirror. Seems like a decent price for this.
