Default Code Scanners what works on the 94-95'*

Has anyone tried one of these unitson a 94-95 Bonneville?
Equus 3120 CanOBD-II & OBD-I Code Scanner Tool Kit™ By Innova
Looks like a great unit but hate to pay the money and find out it does not work on the 94-95 ODB1-II transition years
Thanks :?:

I don't have this unit, but this general area is an interest of mine.

I checked the Equus website, and then went into the instruction manual for their 9120 model.

I just can't find where they might cover our "weird" 94-95 Bonnevilles. At this point, I would assume the unit wouldn't work.

Nonetheless, it might be worh a call to their tech services and see what they have to say. It'* a shame that a nice dual cabability scanner such as this one would not work for our in-between cars.

Many club members are using either the Actron 9110 or the Actron 9145 for their 94-95 Bonnevilles. The 9110 is attractively priced on Ebay, but you have to make sure you get the GM 9111 module with it. The 9110 also requires the 9115 cable to fit your car. If it doesn't come with the unit, I've been making them at cost for members. The 9145 comes complete.

The key words you want to look for when looking for the OBD oddballs are "Manufacturer Specific"

My Auto Xray unit will read anything OBD 1, 2, or MS. But, it cost me around 400 bucks.

Default Actron 9145

Slug
So If you buy the Actron 9145 do you need to buy an additional cable to work on the 94-95 Bonney'*?

The CP9145 does indeed come with an OBD II cable that will read codes for a '95. I also bought the OBD I connector w/ cigarette lighter power supply at Autozone and it works great for OBD I cars (at least the three 1993 Bonnes I've used it on).

Now, the bad part. Not sure how much live data it will read for a Seires II '95. I did use it to read codes on one local '95, but can't remeber the live data cababilities. For my '97, it pretty much functions as a code reader, since the amount and type of live data is extremely limited and not very useful. For a '93, the CP9145 provides live data for most everything that most would use it for.

I really need to hook it up to my co-worker'* '95 SE to see what data I get. Once I do, I can report back.

Well, we're gonna be testing out my new 9110 with Slug cable at the ONBF this weekend. SHould be interesting to see what it does.
Actually, come to think of it, I have no idea where to plug it in!
