But the Chiltons is better than the Haynes..

I would prefer that every owner has a service manual, but not everyone can afford it..
im pretty sure its on the back, but somewhere on a chiltons i remember reading "a haynes company" or something to that effect.

and many of the pics are the same too. look at the intro where the tools req pics are. same for haynes and chiltons. well @ least the ones ive compared

How did you get them from your local public library?

I agree with samueljackson. I bought one (I can't remember if it was the Chilton'* or Haynes), and was not that impressed with it, so bought the other. It was wrapped in clear plastic, so I could not read through it to compare to the one I had. Anyway, it is basically the same as the first, with very little difference. Pics are the same. It does say somehwere, on the back I think, that Chilton'* and Haynes are same company. If anyone wants to argue this, I'll check them when I get home tonight for exact details. :?

This isn't a mechanical issue. Moved to General Chat.

OK, I think I'm going to need more info, like a picture of the back that says they are the same, because my research tells me that these two manuals are published by two different companies, links below:

Chilton by Thomson Delmar Learning

Haynes by Haynes Publishing

Now, this is not definitive by any means, it is the best info I can find so far. Nowhere can I find anything indicating that these manuals are both written or published by the same company.
