Whoops, got at the wrong VIN... we used to have that car before the Bonny, sold it to a neighbour, 425,000km and counting (purchased at 384,000) I just grabbed expired insurance papers... it just said "91 PONT" so I assumed it was right

.. this is the right VIN... - 1G2HY51C1M1235867

I remember seeing "Average" or "Marginal" crash rating for the Altima... bah :(
So Now I know that the dealer I got it from got the car from an auction... second owner would be me... but I'm sure there would be another person before the indicated "first owner".

The Cressida is a bit weird... We've had the car since 1994 (we're listed as 1st owner), but it indicates that there was another owner in 2002... I don't get it?

For those who don't know what a Cressida is... it'* a luxury sedan, known as the Mark II in Japan... the car is based on the Supra chassis and motor... so our '85 is basically an '85 Supra with more weight (added luxury) and an automatic. Great luxury and better build quality than our Bonneville. I can only assume that later (redesign from '89-'92) Cressidas as well were competing against 87-91 Bonnevilles.

It'* RWD, of course, with an Inline-6... I honestly think that it can give '87-'91 Bonnevilles a very good run for the money - if not beat it by quite a bit... They were discontinued after 1992 in North America... as Toyota didn't want the Cressida to canibalize its sales in Lexus. Popular mods to these things like a manual transmission swap (a la Supra) and include bringing a 2.5 I6 over from Japan - with twin turbos I must add - and transplanting it into "Grandpa'* Car." These are a force to be reckoned with, they're known to smoke Camaros and Mustangs on the drag strip

And one time in Mississauga... my dad decided to do a little stoplight racing with little traffic in the afternoon, on Erindale Station south of Mavis... beat out an H-Car, an '87-'91 Buick... but it won't be able to face the supercharged guys

pic?

Uneventful life as of date.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) issued no safety recalls for this vehicle model. There isn't any info on crash rating either.
