Okay, after reading this it made me wonder if Castrol High Mileage oil is better for cars with over 100k or is it a gimmick to get more money out of consumers?

well they do say that there are special additives for higher mileage engines (75k+), but i think i am gonna use that new Mobil 1 Extended Performance 15,000 mile interval stuff....it has all kinds of detergents and i will supplement it with a K&N filter, i don't think i would trust a FRAM for 15,000 miles...lol

I have always used Amsoil in my Z. There was some pretty stringent testing done with Amsoil and it'* competitors. Besides the cost ($6.30 per quart) it is hands down the best oil I have come across (And it'* good for about 15,000 miles). I'll see if I can dig up the report.

That looks like a good site but there are too many choices and I don't know where to start to find the answer to my question. Please help.

According to something I either read or saw on TV lately, the "High Mileage" oils put in a few extra additives intended to recondition seals and such.

Here'* a pretty easy to read article (even if it is in that wierd Canadian kilometer language)
Maintenance:
Engine oil for high-mileage cars

k&n works well

hell, duralast (autozone'* cheap brand) works better than fram..

i've always used K&N air and oil filters, or BOSCH oil filters.

The bonne came with a fram in it..so i took my brothers k&n filter out of one of his old gutted airboxes from his old monte carlo and it fit perfectly, so i was like "cool, i dont gotta drop 50 on a filter"

Your engine will work harder and run hotter to push around that heavier weight oil. Your gas mileage will also suffer.
As for me, I would recommend you just KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) no offense
Use 10W-30 Oil. I use the cheap Dino stuff but you can use whatever makes you sleep better at night
I use a Walmart ST3980 Oil Filter cause it'* cheap (around 2 bucks), it has never failed me, and it is made by Champion Labs.
I also change my oil when the seasons change.
Now I am not recommended you to by the cheapest "crap" out there. Just change the oil and filter on a regular basis and you'll find the engine will last a long time.

Mobil 1 Synth and be done with it

I use AC Delco or Wix based filters (Napa gold, etc...)
