I try to wait till it gets above 35 like yesterday when I ran mine through the wash / bottom blaster and then run it down the freeway with the roof open and it has not failed me yet... 
Now this is my first winter with the SSE so I have not had a long enough cold snap to wash her in the real cold temps yet..
