BYE BYE BONNE

:bluecry: :alcoholic: :helpsmilie:

it may be time to say good bye to the love of my life!
It basically went down like this:
Had an oil leak, leaking about 2 quarts per 3k miles. IT was running perfect mind you. They replaced the oil sending unit seal, that wasnt it. then told me it was the timing cover seal. thats like 500 dollars labor!! so i said replace the timing chain, sprocket, and magnet. All together, $886.00 Got it home on Friday and it leaked antifreeze a little after driving it all weekend. JUst about a cup or 2. Drive it to the dealship on Tuesday to have them look at it and get there and all the coolant leakes on the ground. PHEW! they check it out and an O ring on one of the small hoses going into the manifold under the alternator area was broke. They broke it when they did the other work last Friday. They fixed that, Im driving away and as i get a mile down the road. POOF .no power to engine Car stalls. HAve them come tow me back i get a rental car and they call me later to tell me theres no fire. I have an MSD ignitiion about $560. NO one knows how to work on it. I told them to take the coil adapters off and bypass it. They started this the next morning, i drive in about 9:30 and its half apart. They dont have the right size screws to bolt down the coil pacs now that the adapters arent in there anymore. no one is doing anything. I ask ifthey have old cars in the back and suddenly a lightbulb comes on. they go get screws, bolt down the OEM coils with OEM iginition and it works. They fried my MSD when they rinsed the side of the motor off b/c of the antifreeze leaking! I needed to get to work so i just left. Came home that night and it started tapping about 3/4s of the way and got worse. really really worse. I checked when i get home and its got about 1 to 11/2 Qts of oil too much in there and its BANGINGby now. They towed it in again the next morinng, and said the mortor is fried!! wont tell me exactly whats wrong with it but that i need a new motor.
so, I take it in for an oil leak, spend 886.00 to get that fixed, they fry a 560.00 iginition and now my motor is blown? Where is the fuckin justice? ("scuse my french kids)

ANYONE NEED SOME REALLY HOT BONNEVILLE PARTS?

:bluecry: :bluecry: :bluecry: :bluecry: :bluecry:

J Wikoff 02-04-2005 05:29 PM

So, they're fixing free of charge, right?

Twister97 02-04-2005 05:58 PM

Man, that was an awesome car you had! What are you doing with the car as a whole, selling it or just going to sell the parts from it?

Sol 02-04-2005 06:15 PM

That's a shame what happened. I've always thought you had the best lookin 95 around here.

randman1 02-04-2005 06:47 PM

That totally sucks. I agree with jwikoff99. Have them correct the problem that they caused.

If you don't/can't resolve the problem, I might be interested in the whole car.

driverjohn2005 02-04-2005 06:56 PM

dude, i'd get a lawyer if they arn't going to be paying for all that s**t!

rjolly87 02-04-2005 08:07 PM

you break it, you bought it.

i think they broke it. take it to another place, have them see how much it would cost to bring it back to its original condition <minus oil leak> and get the money out of the dealership for the cost of their repairs <if thats what you call them> and that of the other shops repairs too. dont take no for an answer, start off nice, dont leave court out of the question, document everything. have fun with it!

Nytro67 02-04-2005 08:13 PM

Sorry, i sent that right before i left work. Ugh, yah i dont know what to do yet. I talked to the owner of the place, a pontiac dealership thats been around since the 50s and he wants me to come in and see if he can give me a deal on a new car. Im going to meet with him tommorrow to see what he has to say. I am still contemplating a new engine, Series II OBDII, but thats going to take a lot longer then getting a new car. We'll see tomorrow.
For anyone that said they might want it, is that with the audio and wheels or would you want the factory?

It just pisses me off because the motor has thousands of dollars of new 'stuff' on it and now its trash? he said they would rather replace it then try to rebuild whats there. I dont know im not a grease monkey so i dont know what to say.

thanks for all the condolences... :bluecry:

Factory would be better for me.

Nytro67 02-04-2005 08:23 PM

i could do that. CIrcuit city said they'd replace the original stuff for a fee. the original wheels got michelen pilot xgt z4s on 'em in good condition.

we'll see what happens tomorrow.

94 SSE with Sizzle 02-05-2005 10:26 PM

dude that blows, but sometimes it ain't worth the hassle. hopefully you'll get a great deal on new wheels.

looong4 02-05-2005 10:32 PM

Thats too bad. So where is the car now?

BonEvilSSEi 02-05-2005 11:52 PM

if you part it out I want the alternator and the chip as long as its a BKKH.....if not give me a holla id love to have 2 Bonnes....and I can get ahold of a SER2 swap pretty easy

95naSTA 02-06-2005 12:16 AM

Dude, that's freaking terrible. You should be able to get a used motor installed for like 1200 parts and labor, i know that's how much it was going to cost me.
I would hold on to that car man, it's really nice esp with that performance tranny, that's big bucks.
Good luck.
And if you wanna do a series 2 L67 swap, it will bolt up and it has been done, i think Sprial did it?

beckstyle 02-06-2005 11:01 AM

Wow, people are stupid.

Chad V 02-06-2005 11:18 AM

I know its not the same having being offered a deal on a new car, and I would do all i can to get the dealership to fix their F-ups, but atleast you might get a good deal on a GXP model  And from exp dealin with dealerships, when you start talkin court, they mysteriously start working harder to make everything right

Nytro67 02-06-2005 01:26 PM

WOW, i have a tough decision to make! I met with the owner of the dealership yesterday and this is what i have to decide: He will give me a trade in value of 2,000 for my car, he said it prolly would be like 1200 even it was running right for a normal person so that 800 makes up for the money i just spent on the timing chain crap. he will give me a 2k5 GTP with the COMP G package (Black of course) for 26,000 (incl tradein). AND i get to strip my car of all the goodies, he said they would even tow it to circuit ctiy so i can swap my stereo system back out!
OR, he will give me a new 2004 GTO for 25,000. Silver w/red leather int. Its an automatic though, and i would have to pay a 1,500 gas guzzler tax. (Not for the manual though) thats not as practical though driving in rush hor traffic every day.

I would like to get my alternator, battery which is a month old optima red top, comp chip, wheels, intake pipe, coils, MSD ignition, and stereo system out. he said he was going to part it out, he'll make up the differnce on the Tranny alone.
ITs also got a new ac compressor, water pump, harmonic balancer, egr valve, TPS sensor and a lot of other shit he'll be able to use.

I told him i hadnt decided yet and i wnat to know exactly what is wrong with my engine to see if can be repaired without needing a replacement. it WAS still running.
This is what it sounds like now. http://www.fred.net/noelsy/enginenoise.htm
(uses active X control)

what would you do??

harofreak00 02-06-2005 01:34 PM

depends how loaded u are! that comp g would be sweet...but i dont go that cash

i think you could get way more, like double, for that car if it was running right....even with all the mods off of it..

ur car sounds like a model T...

sucks they would part out a beauty...

randman1 02-06-2005 01:35 PM

Mmmm... I'm thinkin GTO all the way. Can he get you into a 2005?

Nytro67 02-06-2005 01:41 PM

yah, i'd hate to see it be parted too. :bluecry:

They had a 2k5 GTO with the ground effects package that was only 34,000 and the silver 2k4 was 33,500 but he said he couldnt give me all that money off for the 2k5. I would have took that in a heart beat that car was gorgeous!! I'm kind of leaning towards to GTP depending on what thtey find with my car. Oh yeah, he said they would take my engine apart free of charge to determine whats really wrong.

decisions decisions

SSEi_MN 02-06-2005 02:14 PM

depends on your checkbook at this point i think...

BonEvilSSEi 02-06-2005 07:50 PM

well lets see....if you got a need for 4 doors the Comp G would be the #1 choice...but jeez 24k for a GTO...even with an auto thats still one smokin azz car! Keep in mind if you go with the Comp G how friggin addictive modifying a W body can be...when I got mine I said im just gonna do an intake and pulley......and ive got that and more done and I feel like im just gettin started! I had the intake on my Regal within the week I bought it! The GTO though........wow, one of my semi future atainable dream cars. Can you say drifting an american car?

Nytro67 02-18-2005 05:07 PM

I know youve all been waiting so patiently for me to tell you what went down. :P i went with the '05 grand Prix GTP Comp G. Black of course!!

DISLIKES- no auto-dimming rearview mirror, no 9 position electric seats- cant seem to get low enough, hair hits sunroof. Oh yah, sacrificed auto-climate control for the infotech package.

LIKES- WAY TO FRIGGIN MANY TO LIST! Check a fully loaded one on pontiac.com, i cant even remember 3/4s of the things it has/does.

Parts I have from my Bonnie for sale-

Wheels and tires (check sig)
Dis 4 digital ignition (Need to test)
Head unit, Amps, front speakers. (car domain)
intake pipe (red)
OPtima red top battery
custom PCM

I really miss my Bonne!
I sure am gonna miss yaw'll.

:wavebye: :wavebye: :wavebye: :wavebye: :wavebye: :wavebye:

Nytro67 02-18-2005 05:10 PM

Oh yeah, the steel braided brake lines that were custom made to fit are brand new, never used. :o

Sol 02-18-2005 06:57 PM

I'm glad you stuck with Pontiac. The Comp-G is a sweet ride.

BonEvilSSEi 02-18-2005 07:12 PM

aight PM me what you want for the brake lines wheels tires and find out if its a BKKH chip....and could you be more specific as to what was done with it...any transmission changes other than firmness and shift points...and if shift points were changed where too....im on to that chip if its done right!

OLBlueEyesBonne 02-18-2005 07:17 PM

Nice ride you picked. I personally would have picked it over the GTO also -would have to be a manual for me and dealing with alot of traffic would make it a task rather than a pleasure to drive. The G-unit in black is surely a force to be reckoned with.
? Why don't you take the custom rims from the Bonneville and put them on the G-unit? They'd really look SCHAWEET on there unless you got the Comp G optional chrome 17" 5-spokes.

Oh, and I'm putting dibs on this:
I'm interested in the your alpine Deck -what model and how much do you want for it?
PM or E-mail me with the info.

J Wikoff 02-18-2005 07:23 PM

How much for the intake pipe?

What in the Sam Hill are you talkin' about? You're gonna miss us?!

Where the heck do you think you're going? Just cause you bought a W-body?
Heck, me and BlueEyes both own Park Avenues! You don't see us leaving.
We've got plenty of W-body people on here, stick around!

BonEvilSSEi 02-18-2005 11:09 PM

and some of us own both!!!!

Twister97 02-18-2005 11:23 PM

G G G G-unit

What you asking for your stereo equipment?

bonnie94ssei 02-19-2005 12:21 AM

That's a shame about the Bonne. That was one of my favorites! It was gorgeous! I can't believe how dumb some people can be.

But the Comp G is a great choice, and for 26K, not a bad deal at all! Have fun with the new ride, and hopefully you can find out what's wrong with the Bonne.

BonneMeMN 02-19-2005 12:24 AM

I may be interested in the DIS-4.

And brake lines.

But Comp G > GTO... Me no get it.

fantastic88 02-19-2005 12:32 AM

Lets see some pics. 8)

Nytro67 02-19-2005 10:18 AM

Ok, im not goin anywhere! I sure as hell dont belong on the Grand 'Pricks' Forum. :P
For those who are interested in parts, let me get them cleaned up and then i will price them and take pictures & post 'em here.
I really wantted to post car pics with the announcement yesterday but i cant seem to get time or weather to do it. they'll be coming soon for sure!

BonneMeMN, i can help you put in into perpsective; ima 37 yrs old w/11yr old & 8 yr old and a wife that cant drive stick.
give me about 5 more years to get them outta the house then hopefully the Solstice will have a Big Block 400 in it by then. 8)

whomever was asking about the PCM, its defintley a BKKH. I wish i had some specifics for you but it was hard as hell getting any info from the dude, he custom did everything- took about 4 months. there s noticeble changes in shift points and firmness, timing curve, no speed limit, and some other things. I'll try and find the old email i had with teh limited info on it.

Oh yeah,
someone PM'ed me about my scan tool. i forgot about that. It rocks! but the one who was asking had a 94 ssei. what i have is OBD II cables/connections that run OBD I software, the 95 bastard child. its called EASE Scantool, look it up it runs for about 350. (or did at the time)

gotta run for now...
PEACE OUT.... :headbang:

dbeast420 02-19-2005 10:53 AM

Yep....just 'cause ya' bought a GP,don't mean yer not welcome!!!!

Looked at a Comp G when I got my S/C oil...............VERY NICE!!!!!!!

The 1994 is the same as the 1995 -they both are bastard years.

Also, on the Alpine deck, what is the model #? I want to look up specs (# of pre-outs, MP3/WMA, etc...) to see if it'll do what I'm looking for in a deck.

rjolly87 02-19-2005 12:42 PM

still dont think it is fair to you. should have made him fix the bonneville anyway. he is still making money off of you! while yes, you did get a better car out of the deal, you still fattened up his pocketbook. oh well, what the heck...
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...7/needpics.gif

Nytro67 02-23-2005 09:24 PM

pics r comin soon if the weather cooporates. You might as well just go to the pontiac site to see it now, its plain 'ol stock. my car is dirty too, i cant wait unitl i can turn my outdoor water back on.

the good news is i finally got everything out that i needed, today just got the rest of the stereo equipment and swappped out the PCM.

i think it was OLBlueEyesBonne asking about the Alpine head unit, its a CDA-7863 60w x 4 MOS-FET FINAL, the manual is located on the http://www.alpine-usa.com site.

I dont have a lot of time right now, probably for the next couple of weeks but i promise it'll all be ready to go soon! And i'll have pics of everything as soon as i get my damn camera batteries checked/replaced. :banghead:

in the mean time, i am gettin a few things done for the time being. TInting windows, getting stainless exahust tips (for now), silver grill plates, and am gonna order a CAI and a SC pulley.

oh and i gotta update my profile too eventually
