The tour lady at the Orion Twp factory said in 1998 when I toured the place that it stood for "injected" as in "air" injected. So you have a Super Sport Edition injected according to the nice Orion lady I met.

if you want it to make actual sense to just your self, call it Super Sport Edition Inducted.

Otherwise it doesn't mean anything.

Ok, so we know according to GM the only one that means anything is the Sports Luxury Edition (SLE). How about we run an ongoing poll and our members will decide. GM won't care, but the people who actually drive them and care about the Bonneville the most will have thier OFFICIAL Bonneville Club current meaning
When anyone asks again, we'll direct them to the poll. Since we can't do each poll for specific trim level in the same thread, we'll concentrate on the SSEi. Have an admin set up the poll so it can always be there, edited, and new options can be added at anytime.

It doesn't mean anything. NOTHING.

People tend to make up meanings for the "acronym", but those vary person to person and should not be taken seriously.
