Anyone ever catch an old episode of COPS (a lot on Court TV lately) where the guys have a few Bonneville and I believe Olds 98 police cars? I think it was in Pittsburgh or somewhere in the NE. These are '88-91 style Bonnevilles. I guess there'* really no point to this post, but it'* an interesting choice of police car. I'm a former officer myself, and have owned several 9C1 Caprices and a few Crown Vics, so I guess that'* where my intrigue comes from.

When I had more time, I used to love hanging out at a friends.... We did some rebuilds on for 302'* and 351'*.. Gotta love finding a piston ring or two upside down from the factory...
Did a lot of Chevy engines... Lot of chevy guys around I guess( I like them too )... Everything from a 265 - 400.. We even messed with an Olds 307 and 403...
We did several LT1'* oncw upon a time... Most of them just wanted a rebuild or Freshen up... On a couple of occoasions we found that 2 of the LT1'* had spun bearings for cylinders 7 and 8... Both at the rear of the motor... But the internals of the LT1 supprised me... It was neat seeing the nice goodies from the factory like that...
If you look really close at the LT1 internals and then take a look at the Series II 3800'* it looks like Buick learned a thing or two from Chevy...
If we were too look at the 3.8 Vin B and Vin 3, 3800 Vin C, 3800 Vin L, 3800 Vin 1 we'd know how much they learned from ther GN motors...
All in all I think tha Buick 3.8-3800 and the Chevrolet line of V8'* are among the best engines ever built
