anyone here know much about pulling dents? ive got a nasty dent in my drivers door caused by the previous owner. It'* about the size of a shoe (was kicked) no creases or chipped paint or anything.... ive tried pushing it out from behind the door panel but theres a metal tube that goes across the inside of the door that just happens to cover the area of the dent, so no luck. called the body shop and the owner told me not to use the "dent puller" method - Slide hammer with a screw.
what other option do i have? i dont wanna buy a whole new door cause this one isnt actually too bad, i believe it could be repaired to look like new. any ideas?

Sometimes, as long as no creases, you can put a heat lamp near it, get it hot, then throw ice water on it (or use LARGE sponge). This shrinks the metal. You want to cool the metal fast as you can. I'm not talking about a cup of water, but a bucket of it.

Went to trade school for autobody. But that was during the ice age. Just do as hobby now. The hot and cold does work on some stuff. I'm a toolmaker and use it at times on other metals to distort.
