Default Black Smoke

Me and My G/Fwent to subway today to get sandwiches, I had to go to the ATM to get money. After she got back in she said as I went around the corner ( i am sure when I went around the corner I hit the gas pretty good) she saw a "big puff of black smoke" What could this mean? I put in STP comeplete fuel system cleaner last fill up, maybe some carbon????? Thanks
