Default Best place to wire-in a radar detector in an '00 Bonnie?

I'm ready to wire-in my radar detector in the '00 Bonneville I just bought,....I'd like to wire it into a switched-power point,....do you have to run the power wire through the firewall into the under-hood fuse block(maybe the wipers fuse)...or can you tap into someplace under the dash??Thanx for any suggestions.....

Usually you can tap into a switched fuse in the underdash fuse box. Be sure, though, that the detector has an inline fuse on the power cord to help prevent any damage.

And before anyone yells at me, this knowledge is based on "older" (1980'*) cars. If it'* different for his year, correct me.
