Well I thought the battery was totally my fault, but I dug around in the glove compartment and found this gem:

Maybe it wasn't entirely my fault, just mostly.

Get a new one. red top would be nice in the Red perfection mobile :p
EDIT: I won't put it in for you, because a week ago i shoked myself by hitting the body of a firebird with a wrench....while doing the positive terminal.
Damn that hurt. HUGE arc, burned the crap outta the wrench.

The scan turned kind of blurry but the invoice date is listed as 3 years ago, same battery.
Ow, seriously, ow. I think I'll pick up some electrical tape while I'm out.
You haven't seen it recently. I have wires and vice grips falling out of the headliner, the engine idles funny becuase I only had enough time to put in three spark plugs, the weather strip on the left side is black while the one on the right is oxidation white becuase I was too lazy to paint both sides. Its by no means perfect. But it will be when I'm done with it.

Want some help with that stuff? Well seriously i shoulda been wearing my gloves, or using a wrench/socket combo that is insulated.
I do have mechanix gloves that i thought about, abotu 30 seconds before impact.... i got sockets but no spark plug sockets so we can work on that

well if you shock yourself while putting the battery on you should have disconnected the negative first then the positive, then when putting it back on go positive then negative. be careful when working on a battery because if you are not careful and touch the positive and negative source while the negative is still hooked up (or touch the frame) with a wrench because you can weld your wrench to the frame and then you really are screwed. this happened to one of my Dad'* friends one time and then they couldnt do anything but shut the hood on it and it left a huge dent from the wrench going up into the hood so hopefully this message will help save someone in the future. also be careful when hooking batteries up because they can explode when you hook up the terminals. so dont keep your eyes really close to the battery when hooking it up.
