Well it'* freakish, but at that point I had only removed the MAF screen and put in the CAI.
It starts off boosting to 7-8 psi, but then in the higher rpms it creeps up to 10-11. Especially in 2nd and 3rd. Two weeks ago when I took it out for a top speed run at the top of 3rd I know it was well past 10, probably 12 psi and maybe even touching around 13.
I'd think maybe the guage is bad, but the way it goes to stock boost level at lower rpms and then as the rpms build the boost starts creeping makes me think it really is boosting that much and I can feel it building up more power and pulling harder as it creeps up.

I finally talked to the guy at the trans shop wher the SSEi is at/had it'* tranny rebuilt in July.
"Sounds like the trans pump went to chit" he said. It'* covered under the rebuild warranty and should be done early next week.

P.*. watchout for a new member from Morris/Herman, MN to sign up soon. He has a black 1998 Bonneville SE with all the looks works and a stereo system, but now he'* needing support/info on how he can beef up his power to back the looks (a little ricey, but some of the stuff is cool -like the chrome Pontiac decals on the mirrors, as well as chrome 16" rims from a 2004 Buick Lesabre).

you have a 1999, so the tranny is an 4t65-E, right? We had a simular problem with ours. It turns out that there is a factory defect where oart of the tranny doesnt get enough oil press, so the tranny will increase the pressure WAY up to try to fix it, making the shifts incredibly hard. Sounds just like what you had happen to you.
