Default back racing again.

wow, it'* been a long time since i have been on this forum. i still have a love for bonnevilles, but if you can remember, i have switched to a 780 volvo. i decided to come back because i actually raced a bonnie the other day. it was a 94 ssei. he was stock, but still a good match for my turbo 4 cylinder. well, as it goes, he beat me off the line, no shock there, but then my 15 psi 4 banger caught up and passed him. sorry guys, a loss for a bonnie. i ended up beating him by about 3 car lenghts. that night i also raced a '00 dodge dakota RT and beat him by a car lenght. also raced an eclipse, well if you call it a race, and also a '94 s10 SS and beat him by 2 cars. my volvo has progressed a lot since i have last been here. i'll be back from time to time, and i still have a tick for a good pontiac. talk to u guys later.

All those races in that little time? Damn, where do you live? Racing Town USA? I have gotten into 1 race since September and now notta thing. The 2 people that are willing to race dont feel like wasting their time with my because 1 has a v8 1990 mustang and the other has a 2003 v8 Ram Hemi.
Btw I did win that race and it was against a volvo

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/328524 heres my site to see what i have done so far. it is a 1990 volvo 780 with a 2.3L turbo 4 cyl. it now looks a little bit different but those pics were from the first day that i got the car. the mods that i have done are a complete cooling system upgrade with a high performance h20 pump and radiator and a 180 degree t-stat. i also have a boost gauge and air to fuel gauge in a custom enclosure in the dash. now for the fun stuff, i have an intake with a custom heat shield over an open element cone filter. then i got a turbo x'* high performance dual stage boost gauge. i launch at 8 psi then with a flip of a switch, i go to 15psi with a 20psi spike to get me going. that rips open the back tires with my 3.73 gear in the rear end! nothing like a rear wheel drive turbo 4 banger. lol. as for the s10, it was an ss s10 that comes with a 4.6L v6. the guy put an intake and exhaust with cutouts. i also believe that he might have a chip. like i said before, the bonnie was bone stock. As for getting all of these races, well some kids from my school organised the racing in the industrial park near my house and about 20 cars showed up from 3 different high schools. ya, i know it'* a bust waiting to happen, but it didn't so it was all the more fun. Will, i'm up for a race as soon as i get my new turbo this winter (from a disiel truck) and some head/valve work. then a cam comes in and an exhaust and i'm up for running u. lol, it'd be a good race, but it looks like u've done some more stuff to your car since the last time i've been here. it'd be fun tho. i'm glad to see that this site is still up and running and that some of the same people are here to help all of the newbies with the same old questions of how to supercharge an n/a. lol, i used to ask that too, so don't worry guys. well, i'll keep checking back from time to time. keep up the good work guys! ohh ya, i've become a turbobricks junkie. it'* like this, but for volvos! lol, there are some pretty quick volvos so watch out guys, we're comming for ya. lol, later -Dan

4.6? In a chevy? I'm assuming you mean the 4.3? If it was a V6, it wasn't an SS. The guy probably just had the badging.

my bad, your right it was a 4.3. but it was an ss. i just checked a couple of sites because what u said about just putting on the decals got me wondering. but they did make a v6 s10 ss. here'* the info from a web site that i found.

"The SS was introduced in 1994. About 2756 (rough est.) SS'* were made a year.
They were each equipped with the 4.3L V6 producing 180 hp and on up to 195 hp Stock! That'* more horses than anything in its class. It thrashed the Ford Ranger Splash,
and that was pretty much its only competition. The SS was introduced with only
three colors: Onyx Black, Summit White, and Apple Red. . In 94 and 95, the SS came with 15" cast aluminum wheels, and chrome center caps and red bowties. SS badging and fog lamps were standard equipment as well. The rear-end was a 3.42 limited slip gear. This gave the SS an awsome advantage at stop lights. In 1996 the SS took on a new look. The ZQ8 suspension was upgraded to 16x8" wheels borrowed from the early 90'* model RS and Z28 camaros. The over all suspension was also dropped 2" giving it a lower stance and more aggressive feel for the road."
